At the center is a degenerate gambler who’s lost everything and has just one day to find a way out of San Francisco. This story isn’t just about high stakes and desperate choices; it’s about exploring the complexity of someone who pushes all his personal relationships to the maximum strain possible. I’m fascinated by characters like this, and I believe that, depending on the choices we’ve made, we might end up like this. We all have the ability to be good or to be bad, and I believe stories like this help us see in ourselves that which we despise, so hopefully we choose the path of good.
