My name is Lillian and if you’re reading this, thank you.
Our mum has recently been diagnosed with stage 4 oesophageal cancer. It’s something none of us were prepared for, and our world shifted overnight. Only weeks ago she was the one doing school pick-ups, walking the dog, popping to the shops, planning days out and being the steady heart of our family.
Now we are focused on one thing: time.
Time for cuddles on the sofa.
Time for ice creams in the sunshine.
Time for stories, photos, laughter, and ordinary moments that will one day mean everything.
Our mum has started chemotherapy, and we are holding onto hope that treatment gives us what we’re all fighting for — more good days, more memories, and, if we’re lucky, one more beautiful summer together.
Family has always been everything to her. She is “Granny” first and foremost — the one who shows up, who listens, who makes everything feel safe and warm.
This year is especially precious for our family.
My sister is expecting a baby in September, and my brother’s partner is due in June. Two new grandchildren will soon arrive into our world, and our deepest wish is that Mum gets to hold them, love them, and make memories with them too.
We can’t control the diagnosis.
We can’t control how long we have.
But we can choose how we spend the time in front of us.
We’re raising money to help create special experiences and ease financial pressure so we can focus fully on being together. Whether that’s a family holiday, days out with the grandchildren, capturing professional photos, or simply making sure Mum can rest without worrying — every contribution helps us build moments that will last far beyond this season.
We are fighting for one more summer.
One more stretch of sunshine.
One more chapter filled with love instead of fear.
If you’re able to donate, share, or even just send kind thoughts, it means more than we can say.
Thank you for helping us turn time into memories
x
