Erin is a nature-lover and adrenaline junky. She loves camping, hiking, waterfalls, kayaking, doing mud runs and exploring all of the beauty that God has created.

Gift is a power wheelchair user who enjoys music, movies, cars and traveling to far off countries. Unfortunately though, he isn't able (since childhood at camp) to engage in camping, swimming in a lake, or hiking rough terrain.

We value quality time as a couple, and it has been difficult (and in moments heart-breaking), that we can't do certain activities together. Often because nature, simply isn't accessible.

But, one day while Insta scrolling we came across a pretty sweet piece of equipment - an all-terrain wheelchair that makes hiking, exploring and adventure seeking possible. They've got some pretty great content and videos - check them out! (https://www.instagram.com/extrememotus/?hl=en)

Sadly, when it comes to funding the government doesn't seem to value leisure, autonomy and true quality of life for individuals with disabilities. They simply don't fund equipment such as this chair.

The biggest barrier? The cost.

This chair, made in the US, with taxes, shipping and custom fees will cost upwards of $6500.

As two newlyweds who work for non-profits, with high cost of living in the GTA and disability related costs already, this simply is not doable. We are both people who do not like to ask anything of others and would much rather be givers. But, let us bullet-point the dream...
