We are raising funds for our senior student film, High E, created by a passionate team of UC Berkeley students. High E is written and directed by Jack Hirsch, co-written by Ruya Yaman, produced by Lauren Tofel, and brought to life by a crew made up entirely of fellow UC Berkeley students.

The funds raised will help us cover essentials like insurance, location rental costs, equipment rental, production design, art department, costumes, feeding our hardworking cast and crew, and submitting the film to festivals. Every donation, no matter the size, brings us closer to our premiere this May at a historic theater in Oakland. As a thank you, all donors will be credited in the film, listed in order of donation level—because this project truly wouldn’t be possible without your generosity.

This comedy short film follows two lovable dimwits, Cash and Trevor, who find themselves in the middle of a wild adventure after their guitar strings snap during a wicked solo. Suddenly, they're at the center of a growing monopoly over high e strings, and their journey ends up altering the course of rock n’ roll history forever. We were inspired to tell this story because we believe in the importance of music and friendship, especially today as corporations and the monetization of art continue to grow. 'High E' is a silly, lighthearted comedy—something we don't see enough of in today's serious world. We want to bring a fun, entertaining story to life that also touches on real issues, reminding everyone to stay close to their creative roots and do what they love.
