ENDED - Help us make Gavin's dreams come true

7 year old Gavin was diagnosed with a rare life-threatening heart disease. Despite battling his illness, Gavin enjoys many of the same things that other little boys do. He has developed a special fondness for Disney movies, and loves listening to his favorite artist, Katy Perry. Alongside jamming out to his favorite Katy Perry songs, Gavin enjoys munching on his favorite Southern American dish otherwise known as grits alongside chocolate cake as his favorite dessert. Some of Gavin’s favorite outdoor activities include baseball, climbing, and sliding. 

When Make-A-Wish volunteers visited Gavin to determine his most heartfelt wish, he knew exactly what he wanted. Gavin wishes to receive an “adaptable” or inclusive outdoor playground set that allows him to play safely outdoors. This playset provides the accessibility and sensory benefits that Gavin needs to truly enjoy this exciting, and enjoyable playground set while safely considering his condition. 

Gavin doesn’t have the opportunities to do things with friends like most other kids his age do. However, he hopes to one-day play in his new inclusive playground set and live up to his nickname as the “Wild Thing”. Gavin and his family can’t wait to enjoy their adventure together and make new memories playing in the outdoors.
