Thank you all for taking a look at our GoFundMe page for our upcoming comedy film, Assistants Only. We are so excited to start production, but we cannot achieve this dream without your help. At its heart, Assistants Only is about female friendship and what happens when women stop waiting to be chosen, and decide to take the stage themselves.

For Fiona and Izzy, as female comedians, this story feels personal. It’s a metaphor for what it’s like to be told you’re not the main act, or that you’re better off supporting someone else’s spotlight. Josie and Roxanne decide to prove otherwise, even if it’s weird, and uncomfortable. It’s about chasing your dreams, making people laugh, and doing it your way.

For Circus Jerks, their comedy duo at the center of this film, we hope for Assistants Only to be a launch point: a chance to build a world of characters and stories, similar to the spirit of Portlandia, inspired by Christopher Guest movies, This is Spinal Tap, and more. These characters are heightened versions of ourselves: stubborn, weird, hopeful, and determined to prove people wrong.

For Fiona Huxley and Isabella Spagnoli, a director/producer duo who began working together in college, this film will mark an important continuation of their longstanding friendship and collaboration in making quality comedic films.

Most of all, Assistants Only is a laugh-out-loud comedy about two women coming together, backing each other up, and chasing their dreams. We’re raising funds so we can fully realize that vision and make the funniest, boldest version of this film possible.
