Katerina Stoykova, Thomas Southerland, and S. Cagney Gentry are making a follow-up film to Proud Citizen (2014) and Fort Maria (2018).
Blank Verse is the story of Radka Winslow's last American summer. Radka is ready to return to Bulgaria after twenty-five years in the USA. She's selling her house, teaching her final poetry class, and saying goodbye to the American dream. Leaving is hard, however, and Radka has second thoughts when she falls for an intriguing man named Victor.
Starring poets Katerina Stoykova and Jude McPherson, Blank Verse is a feature film that will dig into the complexity and contradictions of being an immigrant and an artist in America. Our film aims to tell the human, funny, romantic, occasionally sad story of what it means to feel at home.
We're making this film on a small budget but have big goals for it. The first two films in this loose trilogy featuring a Bulgarian in Kentucky won awards at prestigious film festivals all over the country. With your help, we can get Blank Verse into the wide world.
