Thanks for visiting the GoFundMe for Roomies! I’m Michelle and Roomies is a half hour, multi-cam sitcom I wrote about five roommates sharing a two bedroom apartment in Los Angeles who will do anything to achieve their dreams - except actually work for them.
I’m so excited to bring this project to life with the help of our director: Larissa Pruett, cinematographer: Pierre Habib, and our talented team of producers, cast, and crew. While we're currently funding this project ourselves, we are looking for help from friends and fellow sit-com lovers to raise funds for set design, post, meals and more.
A bit more about Roomies:
In sitcoms of the 1990s and 2000s (that I absolutely adored) I saw friend groups on television grow up together, get the big job, get married, have children, and live in the houses of their dreams. I grew up with them, aspiring to make my twenties as fun and fulfilling as the characters in those seemed to make theirs.
My twenties were not like that, so Roomies is not one of those shows.
Our show is about how we jump from situationship to situationship, gig to gig, how we’ll probably never own homes, and how we just aren’t growing up like our parents traditionally did. Roomies is about a found family of shared dreams, heartbreak, cheap beer, and triumphs and really awful, embarrassing failures.
This show is informed by my own LA stories, experiences, and absurd lengths I’ve gone to “make it big” in Hollywood, from living with ten roommates in Koreatown, to watching those roommates build a double-decker stadium couch, to fighting with those roommates when stadium couch was gone. All that and more packaged into the classic, cozy, comfort of the multi-cam sitcom in front of a cackling studio audience, just like our parents used to love.
A bit about our team:
Michelle Miyoko Timm - Nickelodeon Fellowship alumni, never met a recipe she couldn’t not follow, writer on an unannounced Nickelodeon show, menu enthusiast.

Pierre Habib - Has worked with Netflix and Disney on some of their largest IP’s from Cobra Kai to Haunted Mansion and more, Arri Alexa owner/opp x3, when he says he’ll be in his trailer, he means it, has nice hair.

THE SET:
We’re currently building this baby ourselves inside the Dunia Offices in downtown LA, complete with a set wall and a window that doesn’t go outside, so you know we mean business.
Thank you for reading, sharing, and donating, it absolutely means the world to me to see our community helping to bring this passion project to life! Any amount helps, be it one dollar or 5,000 dollars.
