Help us make a proper funeral for Rich Kowalski

We are completely devastated and destroyed by the death of my brother, Rich Kowalski. He was a God-loving, selfless, kind-hearted man. Rich was actually the modern-day Santa Claus. He would always go to the pantry every Thursday morning and collect food to distribute to his neighbors that didn't have a car to get food for themselves. Rich had fallen ill last Friday night and was struggling to feel better. He woke to shower and shave on Thursday morning, 9/15/22, as he prepared to go to the pantry in his weakened state. Rich collapsed while preparing to serve his community and landed in God's hands. Rich touched the hearts of everyone he came into contact with. Everyone was a friend to Richie. He was so funny and crazy and a bright light. I loved Richie with all my heart. I am proud to be his sister and best friend.

Please, I am asking for donations to help cover the cost of Richie’s funeral. It is incredibly expensive as we would like to get him a crypt at Saint Adalbert's in Lancaster, NY, to be with my Mom and Dad. We will also have a mass at Queen of Martyrs Church on George Urban Blvd in Cheektowaga, NY, followed by a funeral brunch where we can all gather to pay respects to this larger-than-life man I am so honored to call my brother.

We were all shocked and paralyzed by Richie’s death and were unprepared for the high funeral service cost. We want to give Rich the memorial he deserves, honor his memory and say our last goodbyes.
