Story

First and foremost, thank you to everyone who has shown love, support, and compassion during this incredibly difficult time. Our family is completely heartbroken over the sudden and tragic loss of our beloved SonTia, and we are doing everything we can to honor her with the love, care, and dignity she deserves. Initially, we were informed that SonTia had an active life insurance policy, and out of respect for that process, we paused all fundraising efforts. However, we’ve recently been made aware that due to the nature of the ongoing investigation into her death, her life insurance cannot be released until the case is fully resolved — a process that could take weeks or even longer. Unfortunately, her body cannot be preserved long enough for us to wait that long, which means we must move forward with funeral and burial arrangements without access to those funds. To make things even harder, our family is still grieving the loss of SonTia’s stepfather, who tragically passed away just this past March. This has truly been a season of back-to-back heartbreak, and we are doing our best to stay strong and together through it all. Because of this, we are humbly asking for help from our community — friends, loved ones, and anyone who has been touched by SonTia’s life — to help us give her the proper farewell she deserves.
