On April 9th, her 71st birthday, my mother Seturnina (Lina) Perez was celebrating the day with her husband when she collapsed. The fall was traumatic, she was immediately unresponsive and, as we found out later, suffered from both a stroke and cardiac arrest.

They did CPR on her for an hour before they were able to get her back. In the hospital we found out she had extensive brain damage, and she wouldn’t recover. I lost my mother that day.

She survived unconscious on machines for a month before she was taken off, to be transported home for hospice. She didn’t make it, passing away at the hospital on May 9th.

This has been a devastating loss, to her husband John of over 53 years, to her four children, many grandchildren, siblings, and extended family who loved her so dearly.

We have fallen short on funds for my mother’s burial and kindly ask for help to cover the rest of the cost.
