Help Us Lay Scott Miles to Rest

Hello, my name is Mariah Jackson, and I (on behalf of my grandmother, Pauline Ambs), am raising funds to help cover funeral expenses for my uncle, Scott Miles.

Scott was admitted to the hospital Saturday afternoon and his condition quickly deteriorated. The family was called in Sunday afternoon, where we saw Scott talking and attempting to laugh with us. He made it through the night, but ultimately took a turn for the worse around 10am today (Monday), which resulted in everyone being called back to the hospital and eventually making a mutual decision to end life-saving measures. He is expected to pass by the end of the night.

Like many people, Scott faced battles of his own. He has struggled on and off with addiction his entire life, fighting his hardest to overcome it. Through the end, he has continued to struggle with addiction and the complications caused by it. Unfortunately, because of that, he doesn't have life insurance or any savings to cover final expenses.

Our family is doing and providing everything we can, but even the lowest cost for a simple memorial is overwhelming. We want to give Scott a dignified goodbye, something that honors the love we have for him, despite the pain and struggles he has carried. If you're able to donate—no matter the amount—it would mean everything to us.

Addiction is complicated, but Scott has always been more than his addiction. He is a son, a father, a brother, an uncle, a grandfather, and a friend to many. So many of those he loves and cares for, who love and care for him, have been able to visit and share their final goodbyes with him during his last moments, and we just want to be able to finally give him the peace he has always searched for.
