Help Us Lay Our Mum, Nila Patel, to Rest and Seek Justice
Donation protected
On Tuesday 24th June 2025, our world changed forever.
Our mum, Nila Patel, was tragically and violently taken from us in an unprovoked attack near Leicester Royal Infirmary. She was walking down Aylestone Road when she was assaulted by a man who had just fled the scene of a car crash. Mum suffered life-threatening injuries and, despite the incredible efforts of the medical team at Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham, she sadly passed away two days later on Thursday 26th June.
This heartbreaking event has left our entire family in shock. Our mum was the most kind, caring, and selfless person we’ve ever known. She always put everyone else first, never caused an issue, and no matter what she was going through, she wore a big smile.
She was the pillar of our family. She supported us through everything and never asked for anything in return. She was our comfort, our strength, and truly our hero. We don’t know how to go on without her, but we know we want to make her proud and honour her in every way we can.
Now it’s our turn to do everything we can for her. We are currently going through a murder investigation, and while the justice process is ongoing, we’re also facing the immediate pressures of funeral costs, legal arrangements, and trying to support our family in this sudden time of loss.
Mum was not just our parent. She was our safe space, our guide, our biggest cheerleader. Her loss has left a space in our lives that can never be filled.
We’re asking for help from friends, family, and the wider community. Any donation, big or small, will go towards:
Giving Mum the beautiful farewell she deserves
Supporting us, her children, as we begin to rebuild our lives without her
Helping with any legal and practical costs during this incredibly painful time
Your support, love, and kindness mean the world to us. Whether you can donate, share this page, or keep us in your thoughts, we are truly grateful.
With love,
Jaidan and Danika Patel
