Hello Everyone,

My name is James Riggs, and for the last seven years, I served as a personal caretaker for my father, Arlie Joe Riggs Jr. Unfortunately, in the early afternoon of November 22, 2021, my father suddenly passed away in his sleep. This has been an incredibly difficult time for my family. He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Penny, and his two sons, my brother Michael and me. He was an incredible man who did everything for anyone who ever needed his help, so now I swallow my pride and ask for help in giving my father the funeral I believe with all my heart that he deserves. My father never wanted anything special for himself, but I want to honor his legacy by giving him a funeral and purchasing a plot to lay him to eternal rest. He worked and provided for his family for his entire life before retiring and becoming a full-time father. He took to the role like he was born to fulfill that role and would become seen as Dad or Pop to everyone who knew him. The last few years of his life were difficult for all of us, and we wished we could have drastically improved his circumstances, and alas just as he was showing improvement, he was gone in the blink of an eye. The total cost has been estimated to be just over $11,000 to cremate him, conduct the services, and purchase the plot. If anyone can assist or contribute to raising these funds to help lay my father to rest it will be immensely appreciated by my entire family. My words will never be able to truly capture my appreciation to anyone who helps me during this difficult time. I would not be who I am without my father, so I want to honor him by showing how loved he is and how badly he will be missed. I was present and started the cpr process that was ultimately unsuccessful and it was the most helpless I’ve ever felt. Now I ask the goodness in the world to help me honor him and his memory.
