Help Us Lay Our Dad, Jerry Davidson, to Rest

Hi, my name is Alyssa, and I’m writing this on behalf of my family with a heavy heart. Early Wednesday morning, around 4 a.m., our dad, Jerry Davidson, was tragically murdered in his own home. Three individuals went there to rob him—and they took his life instead.

Our lives have been shattered. There are no words to describe the pain, anger, and heartbreak our family feels. Our dad didn’t deserve this. He was a man with the biggest heart and the best sense of humor. If you knew him, you know he’d give you the shirt off his back, no questions asked. He was the kind of person who made everyone laugh, no matter what they were going through. He had a way of lighting up a room with his jokes, his stories, and his presence.

Now that light is gone.

Like many families, we never imagined we’d have to face something like this. Our dad didn’t have life insurance, and we’re left to figure out how to give him the proper goodbye he deserves while trying to process this unimaginable loss. Our granddad—Jerry’s father—found him less than 100 feet away from his own home. No parent should ever have to go through that kind of pain.

The person who did this should never have been free to walk the streets. Our dad’s life was stolen by someone who should have been behind bars. And now we’re left to pick up the pieces—emotionally, mentally, and financially.
