Help Us Lay Our Beloved Jamal to Rest

It is with broken hearts that we share the sudden and tragic passing of our beloved Jamal, who left us this morning at just 17 years old.

Jamal died from a fentanyl overdose—Jamal was so much more than what happened to him He had been trying so hard to do better, to turn his life around. For a while, he really was. But recently, he slipped back into the wrong crowd, and this cruel drug took him from us far too soon.

Jamal was not defined by his struggles. He was light. He was love. He was joy.

He was the heart and soul of our family—the one who always knew how to lift our spirits, crack a joke when we needed it, and fill the room with laughter. He made friends with everyone he met and was the kind of person who stood up for others when he saw something wrong.

He was warm, kind, and full of life. His smile lit up every room. His energy was contagious. And no matter what he was going through, he always tried to make others happy. That’s just who Jamal was.

Our family is devastated. We never imagined we’d be writing these words or planning a funeral for someone so young, so full of promise, so loved.

We are reaching out during this incredibly painful time to ask for help. We want to give Jamal the peaceful, dignified farewell he deserves. Any support toward his funeral and burial costs would mean more than we can say. Even a small donation—or simply sharing this page—would be a blessing.
