Honoring a U.S. Navy Veteran: Support for Nelson’s Final Farewell

On behalf of the Cuevas/Crespo family, we are heartbroken by the loss of our loving family member, Nelson Crespo, a proud U.S. Navy Veteran Petty Officer, who dedicated part of his life to serving our country with honor and courage. Did you know Nelson played a crucial role and received medals for Desert Shield, Desert Storm, and the Saudi Arabia Liberation of Kuwait, defending the freedoms and values we all hold dear? His unwavering commitment to service exemplified the true meaning of sacrifice and duty.

Beyond his military accomplishments, Nelson was a cherished parent, son, uncle, and friend, whose love, kindness, and strength touched the lives of everyone around him. Nelson is survived by his mother, siblings, as well as his children plus many nieces and nephews.

As we say goodbye to this remarkable family member, help me give him a farewell that truly honors his military service and the incredible person he was. Unfortunately, the financial burden of these arrangements is more than a family can manage alone, especially mother Marie Cuevas, a few months ago buried her eldest son Ray Crespo in August 2024.

I am reaching out to our community of loving family and friends for support in covering funeral and burial costs, ensuring that Nelson is laid to rest with dignity and respect, and helping the Cuevas/Crespo family.

Your contribution, no matter the size, will help us honor Nelson’s final dream of being buried as a U.S. Navy Veteran in the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. Donations will go directly toward funeral expenses and related costs, as not all items are covered by veteran benefits for burial. Even if you are unable to donate, we kindly ask for your help in sharing this campaign to reach others who may be able to assist. All proceeds will go directly to Nelson's mother to help the children with associated costs for the funeral service and burial.

Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and for helping us honor a hero named Nelson Crespo, a loving father survived by his children Keila Marie Crespo, Jeremy Vazquez, Maya Mullins, Nelson Samuel Crespo, Armani Rafael Crespo, Laila Crespo, and Liliana Crespo.

Your support means more than words can express.

Respectfully,
Cuevas/Crespo Family
