Help Us Lay Nathan to Rest & Support His Son

Our family is heartbroken to share that my brother, Nathan, passed away unexpectedly at just 38 years old. No one ever expects life to change so suddenly, but here we are, faced with the unimaginable.

Nathan is survived by his son, Jason, his girlfriend, Riva, her mother, Cindy, and me, his sister, Natalie. Sadly, beyond that, we have very little family, making this loss even harder to carry on our own.

Nathan’s life was never easy. From the moment he came into this world, he faced challenges most of us could never imagine — placed into foster care, bounced from house to house, and ultimately aging out of the system without the stability so many of us take for granted. But despite it all, Nathan never let life harden his heart. He loved the outdoors, cooking, being with his friends and family, providing a listening ear, cracking jokes, watching sports (49ers his favorite) and being present with those he loved. Anyone who met Nathan never met a stranger. He would always engage in conversation and keep it real- 100%.

If you knew Nathan, you know how big his heart was — for people and for animals of all kinds. He always wanted to help anyone carrying something heavy on their heart, and he had an undeniable love for animals, especially his dogs. They are now safe and being cared for with the help of the Humane Society, but we are still searching for a loving home for his beloved dog, Chief. If you’re able to take Chief, please reach out ASAP.

But above all, Nathan loved his son, Jason, with his whole heart and wanted nothing more than to be the best father he could be. He was always there for Jason’s games, school events, homework, practice anything giving him what he never had- being a father.

We are asking for help to cover Nathan’s funeral expenses and to give him the proper goodbye he deserves. Anything left over will go directly toward supporting Jason’s future now that Nathan is no longer able to be here for him.

At this time, we do not yet have specific details for the funeral, but we will share more information as soon as we can. Right now, our entire family is grieving this devastating loss and trying to navigate this incredibly difficult time.

If you are able to donate, no amount is too small — every little bit helps. And if you can’t contribute financially, simply sharing this means the world to us.

Thank you for your love, support, and prayers.

With love,
Natalie, Riva, Cindy & Jason
