Our hearts are broken as we share the story of our precious daughter, Nalaya Elliana Walker. During our second ultrasound, we learned that Nalaya had anencephaly, a rare and devastating condition that affects fewer than 10,000 babies worldwide each year. There is no cure or treatment, and we were told she would not survive. On January 9, 2026, at 4 am, Nalaya was born and passed away, weighing 3 pounds 7 ounces. She never took a breath, but she filled our lives with love and hope from the moment we knew about her.
Before Nalaya, doctors told us we couldn’t have a baby naturally without an IVF procedure. But God allowed us to have Nalaya, even if only for 35 weeks. Her life was a miracle and a gift, and we cherished every moment we had with her. The pain of losing Nalaya is more than words can express. We dreamed of holding her, watching her grow, and sharing a lifetime of memories. Instead, we are left with empty arms and aching hearts. Through our grief, we are trying to stay strong for each other and trust in God’s plan, believing that He makes no mistakes. Nalaya’s brief presence in our lives has changed us forever, and we want to honor her memory in the most loving way we can.
