This year, at just 55, Melissa Mitzimber's (Michell Miller’s) health took an unexpected turn. Now, she is on hospice and is not expected to make it past the weekend.
Some believe there is no such thing as a selfless person. That’s because they’ve never met Michell. Michell is a caregiver to the world who always puts others’ needs before her own. She never turns an animal or human in need away from her door, only welcomes them in with a smile and a promise that now, they are home.
Michell’s heart for serving others led her to become a nurse. However, due to her declining health, she lost her job and benefits. For the past few months, Michell supported her family with her 401k and savings. Leaving Michelle, and our family, unable to afford the costs of laying her to rest.
Our family will use the donations from Michell’s GoFund me to transport her body two and a half hours from Baton Rouge to her hometown. Funds will also go towards her funeral service, tombstone, and burial.
Any donation, no matter how small, means the world to our family, and ensures Michelle receives the memorial she deserves.
Update 1/10
This morning, Michelle passed surrounded by family. We are sincerely grateful for everyone who has donated. Our family is still accepting donations to cover her funeral costs.
