Hello, my name is Kito.

It’s incredibly hard for me to write this — I’m doing so with a heavy heart and deep sadness. Our family has created this GoFundMe due to an unexpected and heartbreaking loss.

On July 20th, 2025, we received the kind of call no one ever wants to get. Jessie E. Laborin — my nephew, my family — was found unresponsive in his room by his girlfriend. The paramedics were already there when she called us, and they had covered his body with a sheet. Jessie had passed away suddenly in his sleep. No warning, no goodbyes. Just gone.

January 12th 1983 He was only 42 years old.

He leaves behind his children, his loved ones, and so many family and friends who cared for him deeply.

Jessie was one-of-a-kind. Funny, outgoing, full of love and light. He had a unique sense of humor and a huge heart — the kind of person who got along with everyone. If you ever met Jessie, you know the energy he brought into a room. He was a bright spirit who always made people laugh and feel welcome.

Before he moved out of state to start a new chapter, he was incredibly close to me and my son, Anthony. I helped raise him. When times got tough, we gave him a place to stay — and in turn, he gave us his love and loyalty. He was like a son to me.

Jessie lived with health challenges. He was diabetic and had several other health problems, but he stayed strong through it all. He had a passion for music and loved deep, philosophical conversations. He was thoughtful, creative, and always searching for meaning in life.

Now, we are left trying to make sense of this tragedy and do our best to honor him properly.

We are asking for help — anything you can give — to help us with funeral and memorial expenses. Our goal is $3,500, and every single dollar brings us closer to giving Jessie the farewell he deserves.
