Help Us Lay Our Father, Jerry Gordon Sr., to Rest
It is with the heaviest of hearts that we share the passing of our beloved father, Jerry Gordon Sr., who left us on December 6th, 2025 at 1:18 PM. Jerry was born on January 1st, 1967, and throughout his life he touched so many with his warmth, humor, and love, he was the life of the party Mr.Red Cup himself. DeeDee as some call him leaves behind several children, grandchildren, siblings, and his mother, who are all devastated by this loss.
On September 20th, 2025 Jerry was admitted to Broward General Medical Center. Over the months, our family watched him fight through more challenges than anyone should ever have to face. On September 24th, his condition took a turn for the worse and he was intubated. On October 3rd, we had hope again, he received a tracheostomy and was beginning to respond to his meds. His health continued to rise and fall throughout his stay, but we held on tightly to every bit of progress.
We believed he was getting closer to being released to rehab, but on Thanksgiving Day, our world stopped. We were told he had high-grade Diffused B-cell Lymphoma, an aggressive cancer. Soon after, his vitals began to drop, and his organs started to fail. Despite every effort from the medical team and every prayer and ounce of love from us his body could no longer continue the fight.
Our father did not have life insurance, and the unexpected medical journey over the past months has left us struggling to cover the cost of his funeral and burial, which can be costly. We want to honor him with the dignity he deserves, but we cannot do it alone.
We are humbly asking for assistance with these expenses. Any amount, no matter how small, helps us get closer to giving him the proper farewell he deserves.
We are deeply grateful for every message, call, and prayer we’ve received. Your love has lifted us during the darkest days, and we know he would have appreciated every bit of kindness shown to his family.
Thank you for supporting us as we lay our father to rest.
With love,
The Gordon Family
