Hello everyone, my name is Isabel Pedraja. I never thought I would be writing something like this, but my family and I are in desperate need of help right now. September 9, my world was turned upside down when my father suddenly passed away in his bed. My mom was the one who found him, and the shock and pain of that moment will stay with us forever.

We weren’t prepared for this. We didn’t expect my father to leave us so soon. He didn’t have life insurance or any savings set aside for funeral costs, and now my family and I are faced with not only our grief but also the overwhelming burden of trying to figure out how to lay him to rest.

I’m a low-income person, and I’ve never had to organize a funeral before, let alone try to do it with my siblings while also processing this heartbreak. To be honest, I feel lost, confused, and scared. Right now, my father’s body is at the morgue. They are waiting for us to come up with the money to begin his services, and time feels like it’s slipping away.

What breaks my heart most is the thought of not being able to give my dad the dignity he deserves. I don’t want to have to cremate him simply because we can’t afford the costs. He was more than just my father he was a husband, a provider, and the heart of our family. He deserves to be remembered with love and respect, not with rushed decisions made under financial stress.

This is why I’m reaching out to you, our community, friends, and anyone with kindness in their heart. Please, if you’re able, help us give my dad the funeral he deserves. No amount is too small every donation, every share, every prayer helps lift some of this heavy weight from our shoulders.
