Help Us Lay George Torres To Rest

George H. Torres was a beloved son, brother, nephew, uncle, cousin and friend to so many. Not only was he all of these things, he was so much more. Born the eldest child to Juanita and Julio Torres, older sibling to Michelle and James, he spent his childhood growing up in the Bronx.

Having a flair for the dramatic, he gravitated toward music and acting. George graduated with an arts degree from SUNY Brockport, where he wrote and acted in plays. He also sung in a band and often went to places like CBGB's to listen to folks like Blondie, Patti Smith, and Talking Heads. He was always there for family -- Any graduation, birthday party, baby shower, wedding, he was there; He helped his sister Michelle raise her two children, Arianna and Vincent whom he considered to be his own; He was the primary caretaker for his parents and their home for over a decade up until he passed.

George also dealt with many personal demons. Despite the years of joy and love he shared with his family, his pain, he felt too heavy to share with any of us. Please consider donating to this fund so that we may put our beloved George to rest. Part of what is raised will go toward care for his father, Julio Torres who is currently in a care home as well as assisting with matters relating to their home in the Bronx.
