Elvia Aleida Yaya Santiago funeral and memorial expenses

Elvia A. Santiago Santana (Yaya) was an amazing wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend to everyone. She endured 13 years with multiple sclerosis and other underlying issues, she never gave up she always kept a smile on her face loving life. Being bed bound she never let that stop her from being there for anyone! Whether it was by phone, text message, facebook, instagram, TikTok , and Snapchat she was available day or night, she’d answered. She didn’t have kids of her own, however she loved kids. Yaya had a small candy house at her bedside. The bus stop for schoolchildren was only a few steps from her home. The kids stopped daily to buy snacks, candy and drinks. They all loved Mrs Yaya!The candy house wasn’t only for income. Her profit was more than money, having customers/friends stopping daily was the highlight of her day. She loved the companionship. She was a great listener and always had great advice! She was very knowledgeable often asked by her peers for help, translating documents, filling out forms even some accounting for your small business. She was always willing to lend a hand. If you needed child care she would do it!

On Saturday, November 16, 2024, she began her eternal rest. She is preceded in death by her father, Javier Santiago, who undoubtedly is waiting for her with his arms wide open. She leaves behind many family members, including her mother, Carmen Gloria Bueno, and her siblings Ruth, Lorena, Javier R., Joe, Javier S., and Dalila.

We unfortunately were not prepared for this great loss. We were supposed to look for nursing homes until she was stable enough to go back home. She was on disability she didn’t have any funeral arrangements in place. We are asking for any donations to help lay my sister to rest. These funds will pay for her funeral services ,burial and headstone . All donations will be put towards her funeral expenses. Thank you in advance for everyone’s support during our time of grief.
