What is Rysen?

Rysen is a digital Catholic Spiritual Companion that helps users deepen their faith through free-flowing conversation and guided experiences - all moderated to be theologically sound and pastorally attentive, encouraging daily discipline and deeper faith. Whether users want to find the words to pray or reflect on scripture, Rysen is designed to meet you where you are in your faith journey - always with responses rooted in Catholic doctrine and delivered with care & compassion.

The mission

To support people of all ages in their personal spiritual growth while also serving as a tool for evangelisation, community building and assisting the Church in its pastoral mission.

The vision

Born from a search for spiritual direction and companionship rooted in the Catholic faith, what started as a personal project to reconnect with God through Scripture, the Catechism and the writings of the Saints has grown into a tool that others have also found meaningful.

The journey

To start, we built a conversational AI interface for free-flowing Catholic spiritual guidance. Tested for usability, theological accuracy, and pastoral tone, the feedback from early users across age groups and backgrounds was resoundingly positive.

Following a successful pilot, we have commenced development and are launching our Beta in three deliberate phases to allow us to closely engage with users, capture real-time feedback, and refine the product collaboratively. This phased approach ensures that the final cross-platform app, set for launch on the App Store and Google Play, will truly meet the needs and desires of our growing faith community.

How you can help

While we've funded the development and design ourselves so far, as we're set to launch in July 2025, we anticipate increased operating costs. And since we'd like to keep usage affordable for the people who need it the most, we need a little help from those who are able to support this project to offer authentic Catholic spiritual companionship in an increasingly disconnected world.
