Wings2Fly is a new community-focused organisation dedicated to improving access to healthcare and support for people facing barriers to care.

We believe that no one should be prevented from accessing essential treatment, services, or support because of illness, disability, mobility challenges, complex medical needs, or circumstance.

Today, we are raising funds for our first major project: the launch of a specialist paediatric transport service centred around a fully equipped paediatric ambulance designed to support children and young people who cannot travel easily through conventional means.

While this is our first project, it is only the beginning of a much larger vision to improve healthcare access and support for individuals and families within our communities.

Why Wings2Fly Was Created

Wings2Fly was born from both personal experience and years of working on the frontline of healthcare.

In 2018, after losing my grandmother, I wanted to create something meaningful—something that could make a genuine difference during some of life's most difficult moments. As a paramedic, I had already witnessed how often patients and families struggled, not only with illness itself, but with accessing the care and support they needed.

Then life took an unexpected turn.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, I became seriously unwell and spent more than two and a half years rebuilding my own health. That experience gave me a deeper understanding of how quickly circumstances can change and how easily everyday tasks can become significant challenges when health is taken away.

Today, working in patient safety, I continue to see the barriers people face when trying to access healthcare. Whether it is a child with complex medical needs, an individual recovering from major surgery, someone living with a disability, or a family navigating long-term illness, the challenge is often the same.

Accessing care is not always straightforward.

For some people, the journey itself becomes one of the greatest obstacles.

That is why Wings2Fly exists.

Our First Project

Our first major project is the launch of a specialist paediatric transport service that will provide safe, comfortable, and compassionate transport for children and young people with additional healthcare needs.

For many families, attending hospital appointments, specialist clinics, treatments, and healthcare services is far more complicated than simply travelling from A to B.

Children with complex medical conditions, disabilities, long-term illnesses, or ongoing treatment requirements often face significant challenges when travelling. What should be a routine journey can become stressful, exhausting, and overwhelming for both the child and their family.

No family should have to struggle to access the care their child needs.

Our specialist transport service aims to reduce those barriers by providing a safe and supportive environment designed specifically around the needs of children and young people who require additional assistance when travelling.

This project is about far more than an ambulance.

It is about reducing stress for families.

It is about improving access to healthcare.

It is about ensuring children can travel safely, comfortably, and with dignity.

Most importantly, it is about giving families one less thing to worry about during already challenging times.

Building for the Future

The paediatric transport service is our first step—not our final destination.

Our long-term vision is to develop Wings2Fly into a sustainable charity that helps people overcome barriers to healthcare, wellbeing, and independence through practical support, specialist transport solutions, and community-led services.

We want to create an organisation that supports people throughout their healthcare journey—helping individuals and families access the care, treatment, and support they need when conventional options are not enough.

With the support of our community, we hope to expand our services, support more people, and create lasting positive change for those facing barriers to care.
