I have been working around the clock to provide for my daughter and myself, but the past few months have been incredibly challenging. Back in November, I worked for a business that was not legally set up, and as a result, I was not paid on time or appropriately. This financial setback led to my car being repossessed, and it stole the joy from my daughter’s Christmas season. Despite this, I pushed through and found additional work, but it seems like everyone is on a cash diet these days, making it even harder to get by.

Realizing I couldn’t continue being self-employed without support, I switched insurance providers and secured an hourly position to guarantee some income. However, while transitioning, I was involved in a car accident. Living with PTSD and next to some of the most disruptive young drivers, I made a mistake while parking, which resulted in significant damage to my car. When I filed a claim, I discovered that my new insurance wouldn’t cover any of the damages, leaving me to pay for all the repairs myself. Now, my car is fixed, but my living situation is dire. I am two months behind on rent, have received a demand letter, and am waiting for an eviction court date.
