This is one of the hardest things we have ever had to write.

When we moved here, we were homeless and trying to start over from nothing. We stayed with my mother because we believed it would give our family a safe place to land. During that time, we worked constantly, saved everything we could, and eventually managed to put a home on the land. For the first time in a long time, we felt hope. We truly believed we were finally going to be okay.

That didn’t last.

The property became unsafe due to ongoing drug activity that was completely out of our control. For the safety of our family, we were forced to walk away. Losing that home meant losing everything we had worked so hard to build, and the emotional toll of starting over again was devastating.

As we were trying to recover from that loss, my husband began dealing with serious ongoing health issues after suffering a stomach rupture. What followed was not just physical pain, but anxiety that has made daily life and work incredibly difficult for him. There have been times he has missed work because of it, and that loss of income has deeply affected us financially.

Still, we kept going.

We started our own business, and it has actually been doing well. We are proud of what we have built from nothing, but the reality is that we never had the chance to fully catch up after everything we lost.

Right now, we are four thousand dollars behind on rent and facing the very real fear of losing our housing again. We had to give back one of our vehicles just to reduce expenses. Our remaining car urgently needs brakes, and we do not currently have insurance on it, which makes working and even basic daily responsibilities stressful and uncertain.

We are exhausted, but we are not giving up.

We are asking for help not because we are unwilling to work, but because we have been surviving without a safety net for far too long. Any support will go directly toward catching up on rent, making our vehicle safe and insured, and giving us the breathing room we need to stabilize and keep moving forward.
