I've been living here since November—5 months with no issue. Now, very suddenly, we're expected to pay a much higher rent. Our roommate unexpectedly raised the rent without any written agreement, only verbal conversations. Now there's a set amount we must pay, and it's more than we can afford. The amount requested of us is not feasible in the time they have given, especially when we are both looking for work. My boyfriend recently moved here, started a job, but lost it last week due to a coworker lying to the manager while he was very sick. We're doing everything we can to stay afloat, but the sudden changes and loss of income have left us in a really tough spot.
