My mom and I have been facing a series of overwhelming challenges lately. My mom has a lot of medical issues that require frequent appointments, and caring for her has made it difficult for me to work. Last year, I lost my job after 14 years, and since then, it’s been a struggle to keep up with our bills. As a result, I’ve fallen behind on my car payments, and now we’re at risk of losing our only vehicle. The car payment is due by January 28th, which adds even more urgency to our situation. Just a few days ago, we received a letter saying that the owner of the house we rent is selling the property, and we have until February 28th to find a new place to live.

Thankfully, we found a house just seven doors down on the same street, and the owner is willing to work with us. We need to come up with the deposit and first month’s rent by February 15th, on top of catching up on car payments and reinstating our insurance. Keeping our car is crucial for getting my mom to her medical appointments, running errands, and helping me get back to work. Securing this new home would mean we can stay in our community and keep my mom safe and healthy, without the added stress and cost of moving far away.
