First, thank you to everyone who has supported us earlier last year. Your kindness raised over $4K and truly helped us stay afloat during an incredibly difficult season. I am deeply grateful.
For those of you who are unfamiliar, my name is Tanya, and I’m a mother and unemployed Marketing professional doing everything I can to keep my family safe, stable, and together. I’m raising two teens and one young adult at home — two of whom are on the Autism Spectrum, one with Mitochondrial disease and significant medical needs. I'm also supporting my 75-year-old mother.
We recently received a court date of January 16 for an eviction hearing. To prevent losing our home, I need to raise and additional $4,100 within the next two weeks to pay the remaining rent balance (for October through December), and if possible, any donations to help with January rent of $2,600, which will serve as a bridge, as I gear up to begin new work in mid-to-late January.
This is not where I ever imagined we would be — and asking for help is incredibly humbling. But I am determined to keep my kids housed, especially because they are thriving right now in school, therapies, and routines. My son, a proud member of the Lassiter Chorus and JROTC, and my daughter, who is non-verbal, an A/B student who's learning so many important life skills that are giving her what's necessary to build a future beyond her Senior year at Pope High School. Losing our home would set them back in ways we may not recover from soon. It would be devastating.
How We Got Here — and What’s Changing
My seasonal work ended earlier in the year, and despite countless applications and interviews, I struggled to secure full-time employment. During this time, I pieced together income through Lyft, retail, consulting, and freelance projects just to keep us going, but the earnings haven't been enough to help us sustain.
The good news is — things are finally turning around:
- I am in final conversations for a Strategist role that will begin mid-January.
- I’m actively consulting and interviewing for additional paid projects that will begin mid to late January.
- I continue driving and doing side work daily to bring in what I can.
We are so close to stability — but this rent balance is standing between us and losing everything, and timing is critical.
Where Your Support Goes
Every dollar raised will go directly toward:
- Past-due rent needed to stop eviction
- Court-related filing/fees connected to the case
- Keeping utilities and basic necessities stable for the kids
Once this balance is cleared, my landlord has agreed to dismiss the eviction.
If You Prefer to Pay the Landlord Directly
To make people feel even more comfortable, my landlord has agreed to receive funds directly.
If you'd like, you may send support straight to him via CashApp:

If you choose to donate that way, you’re also welcome to message me so I can thank you personally — though anonymous kindness is welcome too.
Why I’m Asking
This isn’t just about rent.
It’s about protecting my children, preserving their progress, and keeping our family together while we get through a short-term financial gap.
If you can give — even a small amount — it truly matters.
If you can’t give, sharing this means just as much.
From the bottom of my heart — thank you for reading, caring, and standing with us.
With enormous gratitude,
Tanya
