I am reaching out from a place of deep vulnerability to ask for help during one of the most difficult and uncertain times in my life.

I am currently going through a federal immigration court process that threatens to uproot the life my spouse and I have built together and potentially separate our family. I have an immigration court hearing in Chicago on September 23, so this has become extremely urgent.

I have been able to secure legal representation, and thankfully, my attorney has been willing to work with us through an installment plan. Even with that flexibility, the overall cost of legal representation, preparing and defending my case, government filing fees, my required medical examination, and the other expenses involved in this process are more than we can manage on our own.

Our goal is to raise $14,780 to help cover these legal and immigration-related expenses so that I can properly fight my case and have the opportunity to remain here with my family.

Asking for help like this is extremely difficult for me. I am a very private person, and because of the sensitive nature of my situation, there are certain details about my immigration case that I am simply not comfortable sharing publicly. I hope that anyone who comes across this fundraiser can understand and respect that.

What I can say is that this situation is very real, very serious, and very time-sensitive. I am doing everything I can on my end to get through this and find ways to contribute toward these expenses, but I cannot carry the entire financial burden of this legal battle alone.

If you are able to help, no amount is too small. Whether it is $5, $10, $20, $50, or whatever you are comfortable giving, every contribution gets us a little closer to being able to cover these expenses and protect the life we have worked so hard to build.

If you are unable to donate, I completely understand. Privately sharing this fundraiser with someone you trust, including friends, family, faith communities, or others who may be willing to help, would also mean so much to us. Because this involves an active immigration case and very personal circumstances, I respectfully ask that the details of my situation not be posted or discussed publicly without my permission.

I never imagined that I would have to ask others for help in this way, but right now I am putting my pride aside and doing what I have to do to give myself the best chance of getting through this.
