Help us keep our club open!
Donation protected
Unfortunately Tobar Pheadair Boxing Club will be on the move again in 2023. We would love to have our own premises but it's difficult to raise funds when renting premises has been so expensive. Paying rent during the 2 years of Covid closure wiped out our earlier fundraising efforts and we have to start again.
It's hard to raise funds for a local amateur boxing club anyway. People associate the sport with the professional game and all of the controversy that's associated with it, or with the dysfunction of the international organisation.
Local amateur boxing is different. Parents bring their kids to keep them fit during the off-season in other sports, or to build confidence, or if they are being bullied, or if they have conditions where a team sport just isn't suitable. Kids are usually pretty self-aware and come for the same reasons.
Our sole objective is to keep kids training and keep them happy. We don't care if they prefer hurling, rugby, or soccer and are just training until the season starts again. The more sport they play the better!
This year we are fundraising for new club premises and to try an offset the costs of keeping the club going. We'd really like your help. If you can support us with a donation it would be terrific. If you know someone who would be prepared to offer us a temporary home please let us know.
Many thanks for your help!
