On December 4, my mom passed away, and everything changed for our family. I stepped in to take care of my sisters, while also raising my own four children. With the need for more space, we are moving to a bigger place, and the costs of caring for everyone have made it difficult to keep up with my mom’s car payments. This car is so important to us—not just as our only transportation since my own car broke down, but also because it was my mom’s first car she ever bought herself. It holds so many memories for me and my sisters, and letting it go would feel like losing another piece of her.
