My mom and I have always tried to make the best of tough situations, but this past holiday season brought challenges we never expected. Right before Thanksgiving, my mom suffered a fall that kept her out of work for a month and a half. Because she didn’t meet the requirements for short-term disability, we lost her income during that time, making an already tight financial situation even more difficult. We’ve been doing our best to catch up, but it’s been a real struggle to stay afloat.
My mom is well past retirement age, but she still works five days a week at an assisted living facility in the memory care unit. She’s spent her life helping others, and her job means the world to her—and to the people she cares for. The biggest challenge we’re facing right now is keeping up with the payments on her car, which is our only means of transportation. Without it, she wouldn’t be able to get to work and continue supporting both of us.
We’re reaching out for help because we truly need it. Any support you can give will go directly toward keeping my mom’s car and making sure she can keep doing the work she loves. Your kindness would mean everything to us during this difficult time. Thank you for reading our story and for any help you can offer.
