Every vehicle we send goes out packed full of aid. This winter, we need to send more.
Medaria Aid is a UK registered charity (No. 1204225), founded by two mothers whose sons have been volunteering in Ukraine since 2022 (one British, one Australian). Four and a half years on, we are still doing the same thing: getting medical and humanitarian aid and vehicles from the UK to the people in Ukraine who need them.
How it works
We do the whole journey, from start to finish:
1. We source the medical and humanitarian aid, and the vehicles: ambulances, 4x4s and minibuses, bought in the UK and made ready for the road.
2. We fill them. Every vehicle leaves packed to the roof with medical supplies, warm clothing, blankets, food, hygiene supplies and supplies for hospitals, frontline medics, communities and orphanages.
3. We drive them there or we flatbed them out to Ukraine. Volunteers take each vehicle from the UK to Ukraine and hand it over, aid and all, to the people who will use it.
Every step costs money. The vehicle, the aid inside it, the fuel, the ferry, the tolls, the insurance, the paperwork and the border fees all have to be paid before a single wheel turns.
What the support has already done
In July 2026, with funding from generous donors, we drove six ambulances, four support vehicles and a minibus to Ukraine. Every one was packed full of medical and humanitarian aid, and every one was handed over to medical teams around Ukraine. The minibus, named Stefan in memory of a fallen Scottish soldier, and one ambulance went to our partners Charivnyky, who care for children in orphanages and assist in transporting vulnerable people.
In the two months since, three more ambulances have been delivered to Ukraine. And in the last two weeks, with the amazing help of many volunteers, two fire engines reached the places where they are desperately needed.
It takes a whole team.
None of this happens without people. Drivers, packers, mechanics, fundraisers and people giving up their weekends, from right across the volunteering community. We couldn't do it without any of them.
Why we need you now
Winter is going to be bad. We are already getting many requests for help. Power cuts leave families, hospitals and orphanages in the cold and the dark, often for hours at a time. Generators are desperately needed. Food and provisions are needed. An ambulance can be the difference between someone reaching hospital or not. A vanload of humanitarian aid can carry a whole community through hard times.
We need your help to support the network that makes all of this happen, so that we can keep vehicles going out all winter, every one of them full.
