We are reaching out on behalf of our beloved Bernard Williams, who is currently recovering from his second life-threatening aortic aneurysm surgery. His strength through unimaginable pain and fear has been nothing short of heroic, but now, Bernard needs our help more than ever.
A Second Chance — Again
Several years ago, Bernard survived his first aortic aneurysm and dissection; a major medical event that changed the course of his life. After surgery and months of recovery, he fought hard to regain stability; physically, emotionally, and financially.
Unfortunately, fate had other plans. Just recently, Bernard underwent a second aortic aneurysm surgery, a procedure that once again placed his life on the line. The physical toll of this surgery is immense, and the emotional burden of reliving that trauma has made recovery even more difficult.
Why We’re Asking for Help
This time around, Bernard is facing a much harder road to recovery. He is currently unable to work and is dealing with a mountain of medical bills, ongoing treatments, follow-up appointments, and the general cost of living with a chronic condition. Insurance only covers so much, and after years of battling health issues, his financial safety net is gone. As many of you may know, the process of obtaining disability can be lengthy; it is being looked into. But it's not just about money, it's about community. The isolation that comes with long-term recovery can be just as damaging as the medical struggle itself. Bernard needs to know he’s not alone.
