This is shockingly hard and I honestly am not sure where to begin right now. In the early hours of Wednesday 16th July, I received the most heart dropping, devastating phone call to inform me that sadly my mom, soulmate and best friend has passed away completely unexpectedly on her beautiful holiday in Morocco.

Currently, we are really struggling to access the travel insurance due to this being through my mom and needed all details that we simply don’t have because we no longer have her. My stepdad Aaron, is currently still in Morocco trying to process the horrendous event that has taken place in front of him, and also trying to navigate the best way to bring my mom home to me and the rest of her family whilst upholding her dignity at all times. Unfortunately, the costs involved go a lot further than just getting mom home.

Currently whilst procedures, protocols and safety measures are taking place, my stepdad is unable to come home, this meaning he is currently paying extortionate costs to extend his stay at the hotel as there is no alternative.

None of the above, is including, the costs involved in the UK when we can eventually bring mom to rest, the hospital fees out in Morocco, the return flights for my stepdad or anything and everything else that may incur.

Right now, please understand the last thing we as a family want to do is to be asking for help. We want to be reunited as soon as possible so we can grieve, cry, and cherish the memories together. This is not possible right now, and therefore I as a daughter of my mom cannot process a single thing as all my days currently consist of is stress, anxiety and panic that I’m not going to be able to cover and be okay financially after something so utterly out of anybody’s control has taken place.
