Help us improve our storm damaged theatre roof
We are raising money for Shinfield Players Theatre to improve the quality of our roof.
Shinfield Players Theatre is a local community theatre that unfortunately lost 95% of its roof during the Storm Eunice on 18th February 2022. This has exposed the entire auditorium, backstage and dressing room. Since then, the theatre has been covered in tarpaulin and electrical equipment removed to avoid further damage, thanks to the huge amounts of support from the local community.
We have been in conversations with the insurance company who will cover the roof repairs like for like. However, we are keen to increase the quality of our roof before the new one goes on. This will reinforce a sustainable roof for the future of Shinfield Players Theatre. The cost of this will be around £4000 for the theatre.
Our local community theatre is the heart of Shinfield and is loved by so many. It is heartbreaking to see it in this state, particularly after we have recently re-opened our doors since COVID. But, this will NOT stop us.
If you can donate anything towards this cause, we will be so grateful. Please also share this fundraiser if you can. Thank you to everyone for their continued support during these times.
Some images of our local community coming together to protect the exposed roof with tarpaulin. We cannot thank you enough.
