Creating a safer, healthier, and happier home for our furry friends

Our not so small guinea pig rescue is home to over 180 beautiful guinea pigs, all saved from neglect, abandonment, or surrender. Every one of them deserves the chance to live in comfort, safety, and health — and we’re doing everything we can to make that happen. But we urgently need your help to keep improving their lives.

Why We Need Your Support

Our rescue operates entirely on donations, and caring for this many guinea pigs is no small task. Each day, we feed, clean, and care for them — ensuring they have fresh hay, clean water, healthy vegetables, safe housing and access to medical attention.

However, with our numbers growing and conditions changing, we now face some critical challenges:

1. A Proper Food Preparation Area

We desperately need a sealed shed to prepare and store fresh vegetables and hay safely. Our current setup leaves food exposed to the elements, making it difficult to keep produce fresh and clean. This new space would serve as a clean & hygienic food prep area — a kitchen — for all 180 of our little residents meal prep.

2. Noise Reduction for Animal Well-being

A large apartment complex has now been built right next to our rescue. What was once a quiet and peaceful environment has turned into constant traffic and noise. The new apartments overlook directly into the rescue, taking away the sense of privacy and calm the rescue once had. The road beside us has effectively become a highway, with nonstop vehicle noise that’s distressing and unsettling for the pigs.

We are seeking funds to build a soundproof fence to significantly reduce road noise and create a calmer, more peaceful environment.

3. Health and Enrichment Upgrades

1. A bottle-washing machine to save time, water and to ensure perfectly sanitized bottles every day. (The rescue operates on tank water.)

2. Larger enclosures so our guinea pigs can roam more freely and enjoy a more natural life instead of being confined to small cages.

3. UV lighting installation inside the shed to provide essential UV rays that promote better bone health and overall well-being.
