February 1st, 2026 our world has gone dark. After a fierce two month battle in the hospital, we have lost our matriarch, a mother of eight and grandmother of ten. She was a woman who didn't just live for her family, but for the most vulnerable among us.

Our mother was a beautiful example of faith, strength, and unconditional love. She lived her life caring for others and beyond.

​As a dedicated worker for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Kyangwali refugee camps, turning displacement into hope. Secured futures for the less fortunate, and was a mother to countless orphans in Uganda. A Health care worker that worked with people with disabilities in Calgary, Alberta. She gave the world everything; now, her own family is left in the wreckage of her loss. We are overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support, seeing how many lives our mother touched through her work with the UNHCR and her local community.

​While we struggle to process this emotional devastation, we are carrying the heavy weight of funeral arrangements for our mother. We are reaching out to the community she served so faithfully to ask for a final act of kindness in her honour.
