Help us honour J’s life and last wishes

Hi, my name is Robert Shaw and last week I lost my little cousin Jay,

Jay was a special guy, brother, son, father, cousin, uncle and friend. A guy with his own style of cool and swagger. Personable, funny and the kind of guy it would be hard not to like.

I remember taking Jay to Blackwater lake bass and pike fishing, we had a blast and it was so neat seeing my little cousin so excited.

Yet too early Jay’s life was ended in a trajic car accident in BC where he lived.

Jay had shared his wish that when he died, his ashes be scattered at Mission Creek, near his hometown Kelowna, with all of his nearest and dearest there for a last farewell. Mission Creek was a special spot for Jay, as he used to spend a lot of time there with good buddies panning for gold.

Alas the time for his wish to be fulfilled has come all too early. And it is the desire of his loved ones to honour his life just as he would have wanted.

It seems right that his ashes return to the land where he spent so much time and loved so much.

The cost for Jay’s cremation and flights for his sisters to join him for their final farewell is $7000. (WE JUST RECEIVED NEWS THAT THE COSTS OF THE CREMATION WILL BE COVERED AND HAVE ADJUSTED OUR FUNDRAISING GOAL). No one could have planned to have saved for this unexpected expense.

It is my deepest hope that you can help us fundraise this amount to allow us to remember our Jay the way he wanted with those he loved around him.

Time is not on our side as arrangements need to be made soon. As they say every little bit counts. We hope you can find it in your heart to give this wonderful man a humble send off and allow his family to say their last goodbyes.
