Help us honor WW2 American Hero Verlan F. Lauder
Donation protected

On the dark early morning of June 6, 1944 our brave Father, Brother, and Grandfather Verlan Frank Lauder (101 First Airborne) (Age 17 yrs old) parachuted down with his brothers into Normandy marking this day a pivotal time in our history. He fought his way up ‘Hells Highway’ into Germany, and was also one of the “Battered Bastards of Bastogne." Surrounded during a major German offensive resulting in the “Battle of the Buldge” They were cut off from supplies and taking constant heavy artillery hits, while digging for shelter and laying in the frozen ground, some with frostbite, for seven long cold days. They did not surrender and fought until Victory.
His Father Frank Newton Lauder was in the 77th Infantry Regiment during World War One. He was also cut off and surrounded by the enemy resulting in what was called the "Lost Battalian"
They are the only ‘Father and Son’ in the United States history to have both being surrounded for a period of time in each World War and survive.
We as a family are asking for donations to help us take him back to Normandy this year 2019 for the 75th Anniversary Celebration of D-Day
My Grandfather Verlan is now 93 years old. Sadly, the brave veterans who fought and won this great conflict, their memories, it’s sights and sounds, it’s terrors and triumphs are disappearing, yielding to the inalterable process of aging. I would love to see him go back and be celebrated and honored for his bravery and love for his country. He resides in SE Idaho and is truly an extraordinary, loving, and generous man. This would be his greatest wish.
Please help us return him to Normandy and it’s sacred battlefields, to celebrate with his Screaming Eagle brothers and the Nations of Europe their great triumphs and sacrifices.
We would be forever greatful and thank you for any kind of donation.
