Help Us Honor Uncle Nick — A True Cowboy’s Farewell

Hi everyone,

I'm organizing this fundraiser on behalf of my family to help cover the cremation costs for my great uncle, Nick, who recently passed away.

Our wild Uncle Nick... "yeeehawww", was truly one of a kind — a real cowboy who spent most of his life on the Alvord Ranch in Oregon. He was tough, funny, and full of heart. When my mom and her cousins were kids, he’d tickle them until they begged for mercy, making them say “Uncle” to stop. As they got older, he’d drink a beer with them and play his favorite Bob Seger songs. He was a constant, comforting presence who made everyone around him feel loved.

Uncle Nick was also full of simple wisdom that most don’t understand — but we sure remember it. In his words:

“Never argue with a woman.”

“Is it real or is it Memorex?”

“You’ve got to have an understanding.”

He’s now reunited with his sisters, our Nan, and Ray — and while we’re grateful he’s at peace, our hearts are heavy.

We’re hoping to raise $1,700 to cover the cost of his cremation. Our family plans to spread his ashes at the Alvord Ranch — the place he called home and loved most. It’s our way of honoring his memory and letting him rest in the land that meant everything to him.
