Help Us Honor the Memory of Brent Chavez

Early on the morning of Tuesday, December 3rd, 2024, we experienced the sudden and tragic loss of our beloved friend and brother, Brent Chavez, aged 36. He is survived by his fiancee, Sarah Lynn Buonacorsi, his father Manny Chavez, his sister Blueset Chavez, and his extended found family, Helene, Sophia, and Loren Gentili, Cerese and Malachi Minetti, Edward Walsh, Sarven Manguiat, and Sheylla and Grizli Duran.

Described by Sarah as "the funniest, most loving man in the world," Brent was a teddy bear of a guy, with a warm, affectionate demeanor and a great sense of humor. He had worked as a barber for nearly 20 years, supporting Sarah as she diligently worked her way through nursing school, and accruing a long list of loyal regulars who loved his work. He was an avid music-lover and talented guitarist, with a special fondness for the Smashing Pumpkins. And he was a master of goofy impressions, busting out a perfect Sean Connery at get-togethers and family functions to the delight of everybody there.

The empty space that his loss will leave in our family is tremendous. His wit and his kindness are irreplaceable, and the thought of never getting to laugh with him again has been heartbreaking.

We humbly ask that you offer whatever support you can, not only to give him the send-off he deserves, but to provide support to Sarah, his loving partner of eight years, and their beautiful fur-babies, Olive Juice and Jericho. Although Sarah has been working, too, her main focus has been school, and without two incomes, she can no longer stay in the apartment they shared. All donations will go both to his memorial, and to ensuring that the woman he loved with all his heart and hoped to marry can secure a new living situation, finish school, and make him proud.
