Honoring the Life of Shirley Elizaga Rotia Griffin
It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Shirley Elizaga Rotia Griffin on January 12, 2025. Shirley bravely fought cancer for years, defying the odds time and time again. On this final journey, the Lord welcomed her home.
Her husband, Marty, is understandably overwhelmed with grief after losing his beloved partner of 25 years. Shirley was not only his wife but his best friend and a source of strength. While they have some deferred costs due to Shirley’s service as a retired DoD employee and Marty’s status as a veteran, the remaining funeral expenses are significant—totaling approximately $8,637.
We are asking for your help to ease Marty’s financial burden during this difficult time. Funds raised will go directly toward funeral expenses, including Shirley’s interment at the Jacksonville National Cemetery, and provide Marty with some stability as he navigates this profound loss.
Today, January 15, 2025, would have been Shirley and Marty’s 25th wedding anniversary. To honor their love and Shirley’s memory, I am starting this GoFundMe with an initial $100 donation and committing to contribute an additional 2% of the total raised. Every dollar will go directly to Marty to help him through this challenging time.
Your kindness and generosity mean more than words can express. Whether it’s a donation or sharing this fundraiser, your support makes a difference. Let’s come together to show Marty he is not alone and help him give Shirley the beautiful farewell she deserves.
