On 11/10/2025, our family suffered the heartbreaking loss of my father, David Baize — a devoted father, a committed husband, loyal friend, and a man whose presence could fill a room with laughter. His passing was unexpected, and we are still trying to find our footing as we navigate this painful and surreal moment.
David was unmistakably himself in every way. If you knew him, you knew he was the biggest Seattle Seahawks fan around — he cheered loud enough for the whole neighborhood to hear and coached through the TV like the coaches and players could hear him.
We also knew him as Captain America, which fit him perfectly: he believed in standing up for others and leading from the front… though he’d definitely crack a dark joke or two while doing it. His sense of humor was one of a kind — a perfect mix of sharp wit, sarcasm, and that slightly darker twist that made everyone who knew him laugh.
He spent years working as a superintendent for Total Western, making tons of friends and getting work done. He worked hard, took pride in what he did, and was the type of man who showed up (though not always on time), put in the work, and cared deeply about the people around him.
Our family is raising funds to help cover funeral and memorial expenses, ensuring we can honor David in a way that reflects the incredible person he was. Any amount you’re able to give — big or small — will help ease the financial stress during this incredibly difficult time.
If you’re unable to donate, we truly understand. Sharing this fundraiser or keeping our family in your thoughts means more than we can express.
Thank you for your love, support, and kindness as we honor the life of a remarkable man — our dad, David Baize.
With love,
Nathan May and Family
