Help Us Honor the “Invincible” Jason Mayer
Donation protected
Our stepfather Jason Mayer passed away unexpectedly this week.
Some knew him as “Hound Dog”, others called him “Moondog”, most knew him simply as “Jay”.
Jay was a local legend in his beloved hometown of Alexandria Bay, NY.
Tales of his heroics have been told for years. He ran into a burning apartment to stop a fire from spreading. He rescued a man from freezing to death.
He was somehow always there to help at exactly the right moment, though he often refused to accept help from anyone in return.
We believed that he was invincible, because he always told us that he was. He was stung by thousands of bees and survived. He claimed that he could not be electrocuted, which is fitting as his departure has hit his family and friends like a lightning bolt to the chest.
Above all else, Jason was an extremely hardworking and selfless man. He gave everything that he had to his family, his friends, and his community.
While he was not a rich man by society’s definition, he lived an extremely rich life.
We are asking for help to cover Jay’s funeral expenses, so that we can give him the warrior’s send-off that he truly deserves.
