Help Us Honor Terri Miller's Legacy

As a family, we find ourselves in the hardest moment of our lives. My Mama, Terri Miller—known to many as the Mediacom cable lady—has always been a pillar of strength, love, and selflessness within our family and community. She has devoted her life to helping others, a true champion blood donor who has saved countless lives. For her, giving was second nature; she would do anything for anyone without a second thought.

But now, we face the unimaginable. These past six weeks have turned our world upside down. What started as some leg pain spiraled into a nightmarish reality. Mama was taken to urgent care, then to the ER, where we learned she has cirrhosis of the liver and that her organs are shutting down. Just six weeks ago, she was a healthy, vibrant woman enjoying life with family and friends. Now, we are left clinging to moments and memories, watching her transition to hospice care so she can be surrounded by the love she deserves.

Mama has been a wife, mother, friend, and a beacon of positivity in her local community. She has spent her life serving others, always willing to give her last to those in need. Unfortunately, in this most humbling time, we must ask for help. With no insurance to cover burial costs, we find ourselves reaching out to family, friends, and our community for assistance.

The thought of losing this beautiful soul is almost too heavy to bear, but we are doing our best to ensure she is comfortable and surrounded by love. In life, we face many challenges, and asking for help is never easy. However, we desperately want to give our mother the proper burial she deserves, one that reflects the incredible person she has always been.

We know that not everyone can contribute financially, and we truly appreciate any thoughts, prayers, or sharing of this message. My Mama has been my best friend, and I am cherishing every moment we have left together while also wrestling with the reality of planning her burial.

Last week, I held her hand in the hospital and hugged her tightly, telling her she is my partner in crime. Even in her weakest moments, her spirit shone through as she giggled and said, "We gotta get in trouble." It is moments like these that remind us of the beautiful impact her life has had on all of us.
